John Ashberry

John Asberry, a Negro, served as a Justice of the Peace and in 1877 he became the Sheriff of East Carroll Parish. His area as Justice was Ward Four. He served in this office until 1884. He served as Sheriff with such white men as Charles R. Egelly, Justice of Peace in Ward Three and W. G. Wyly, Police Jurror in Ward Three.
